Strategic Collaboration Between Lincoln University College And Cengild G.I. Medical Centre To Produce Highly Trained Experts In Nursing

 Lincoln University College (LUC) announced a strategic partnership with Cengild G.I. Medical Centre through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at strengthening education and training in the field of nursing, today.


This effort is an important step towards making Lincoln University College as a reference and main platform for producing trained nursing specialists in Malaysia.


This MoU foresee three focuses involving three main components, especially Sponsorship of Nursing Diploma Students. Cengild will provide scholarships to eligible students under certain agreement, Clinical Training and Usage of Hospital Facilities and students will receive practical exposure at hospitals under Cengild management to ensure they meet the requirements of the Malaysian Nursing Board and the Usage of the Hospital Brand Identity as well as for the purpose of promoting student recruitment and training development.

LUC as part of the responsibilities under this MoU will ensure that students adhere to professional ethics during clinical training. LUC will also collaborate with Cengild in coordinating training schedules and maintaining students' academic records. In addition, LUC will ensure that adequate insurance is in place to protect students and staff during the clinical training period.

Vice President of Corporate & Regional Affairs University College, Tuan Amin bin Mohd Shukor, stated: “This collaboration is a strategic step to make LUC a centre of excellence in providing highly skilled nursing staff. 


Through a combination of quality education and practical experience, we are confident that we can contribute to the workforce needs of the country’s health sector. As a partner, Cengild is committed in ensuring that students not only receive quality education but also relevant industry experience. The medical centre will regularly monitor the students’ academic progress and provide insurance to cover public safety and hospital liability throughout the MoU period.”


Among the attendees at the ceremony were Tuan Amin bin Mohd Shukor (Vice President for Corporate & Regional Affairs), Puan Aslin Hafiza Ali (COO of Lincoln University), Cik Razlyn Amieza Aron (Director Clinical & Collaboration School of Nursing & Applied Health Science) and Puan Thilashiny Letchumanan (Human Resource Manager Cenglid G.I Medical Centre) and Ms Ewe Boon Lay (Director of Nursing).

With the signing of this MoU, LUC and Cengild hope to produce a new generation of nurses, capable of providing world-class healthcare services. This collaboration reflects the commitment of both parties to strengthen the field of nursing and contribute to the development of the health sector in Malaysia.
