My Wedding Story : The Nikah Dress

For the akad nikah, i opt for a very simple kurung moden.
I met the designer of my choice first and then just started to go buy the fabric and laces.

Meeting the designer
For my nikah dress, i've been eyeing on a few designer, but since i want a really minimalistic kurung moden, custom made, and using my own fabric, i went for this designer which i found in the web and instagram who made very pretty kurung modern...

Went to Dwen Raha's boutique and talked to him about what i wanted...
And then he sketched it on paper, a kurung modern with flowy skirt(i had somekind of allergic towards mermaid skirt since my engagement dress doesn't turned out that well...), and the laces gonna be on the bottom part of my kurung top, a lil bit on the sleeves and i need laces for my veil as well.

So i seek for his advise for the quantity of fabric i need to buy...

Fabric and laces hunting
I always too lazy to do fabric hunting and i prefer the designer to just prepare everything for me... but my papa & mama lovesss fabric shops so much and keep on dragging me to Jalan Tar.
Nak beli lace la, nak beli kain la itu ini...
And their favourite is Gulati's...
(i know a lot of people would prefer Jakel, but I'm from Segamat, and Jakel's origin is Segamat, so we know their fabrics so well, and it might not suit us this time... :p)

Went up to the beaded lace department (which i never encounter before), was so excited seeing all the beautiful colourful beaded laces... Since the color i wanted is cream, so i had to just ignored all the beautiful laces around me and ask the staff to take out a few of cream laces.

Finally i narrowed down my selections into 3 most favourites, and then 2, one with danggling pearls and another one is a classic design. I straight away called Dwen to consult with him and he suggested me to choose the classic design 'cause the dangling one is more suitable to make a whole dress, sebab i requested dwen to cut and patch the laces so kalau yang dangling to dipotong2 benang dia berterabur lah pearl-pearl tu...

The final resuts

During the final fitting, i tried on the dress and i'm so happy with the outcome.
It just, Dwen has add on some swaroski onto my dress and veil while i prefer the dress to be more plain with just the laces.
But my mama said it looks better with the stones, barulah nampak pengantin...
Ok... That's not a big deal, so, okay...

My thought

If u ask me will i reccomend Dwen Raha, my answer would definitely be yes yes yes!
His service is the besttt! He helped a lot in our wedding... my husband and i had some last minute problem with husband's reception's outfit and he still willing to accept the order and the outcome is very satisfying!

He also provide dress rental service as well as custom made!
So, nora bagi 6 bintang!
